Mr. Sabga for the past 18 years has contributed to the development of the YMCA in Trinidad and Tobago, giving freely of his expertise. As president he is not only dedicated to the local movement but the entire Latin American and Caribbean community; enabling us all to benefit from his extensive knowledge. In 2006, Mr. Sabga coordinated the YMCA of Trinidad’s efforts to raise funds for the Beirut YMCA at the event “A Feast for Lebanon.” The effort rose over $100,000TT which was given to assist with medical relief projects in Lebanon. His keen business sense affords the YMCA opportunities in gaining major corporate partners for financial and in-kind support.

Recently, he has devoted himself to expanding the YMCA movement to Tobago. His effort along with consultants Joanne and Gordon Cressy and other branch committee members have yielded great fruit. Operations are expected to commence as a branch very soon. Through his actions Mr. Sabga has displayed his commitment for justice and peace, as expressed in our contemporary statement of mission, Challenge 21.
