WHAT IS Y Partners?
In 2000, the YMCA embarked on its first ever ‘Y Partners’ Annual Support Campaign, with the assistance from the YMCA of St. Catharine’s, Canada, and the YMCA of Greater St. Paul, Minnesota. We raised $250,000 The support campaign targets corporate and individual contributors. The YMCA campaign delegates present to executives ‘Y Stories’ gaining the interest of the individual. After discussions the company or executive then agrees to give generously to the YMCA. The companies benefit through a Deed of Covenant tax break and are then eligible for being inducted as a Y Hero.
Through website promotions and inclusion in the YMCA’s Annual Report, a Y Hero gains fundamental benefits of international marketing, positive business positioning as a socially responsible corporate partner. In turn the Y gains valuable support financially and in-kind.
The campaign’s key role is to:
- Provide funding to deliver on our mission promise to assist participants who can not afford programme fees.
- Provide funding to upkeep our facilities.
- Provide hope to many young people who otherwise would be hopeless.
- Private Contributors.
